Yes, the convention and Australian Fox Hunting championship is on for 2026. The usual June date for the King’s Birthday Weekend, this year it’s the 6th and 7th. Location will again be at the Scout Hall in Mt Gambier.
More details will follow as the organisation gets under way but we can tell you the dinner will be on the Sunday evening with John VK5JOB in charge and the whole club as helpers. The dinner will follow the presentation of the Fox Hunting Awards and the Home Brew Competition results. We have a guest speaker arranged too.
Regarding home brew, last year was down on entries and this was recognised by a number of attendees and promises were made to contribute in 2026. Home brew is an important part of our hobby, we will continue the competition. Have a think about how you can contribute.
The committee has now met several times and things are shaping up.
Catering progressing as are the fox hunt plans, a grant has been promised to help with costs, banners organised, Elite Communications have already responded enthusiastically, a Codan antenna has been donated, “foxboxes” being expanded and software for the hunt is being practised. Lots more has already been organised.
Our leader is Maxwell VK5AC ably assisted by a small committee.
